Enjoy a family day out riding miniature steam trains at Abbeydale Miniature Railway.
Run by the Sheffield & District Society of Model and Experimental Engineers, this much-loved attraction offers visitors the chance to ride behind real coal-fired steam locomotives on a charming woodland railway.
A fantastic outing for families, train lovers and curious kids, with a friendly community atmosphere and plenty to see and do.

SANTA SPECIALS
Sunday 6th and Sunday 13th
Admission to our Santa Specials is strictly for ticket holders only. Times, prices, when and how to buy your tickets will be published on our website in due course.
What to expect:
- Ride miniature steam and diesel trains
- Woodland setting with a unique railway layout
- Light refreshments and ice cream available
- Family-friendly, volunteer-run atmosphere
The railway operates on selected Sundays only, so it’s important to check dates before visiting. Facilities include toilets and accessible seating, with a wheelchair-friendly carriage available on request.
Please note: steam locomotives may emit sparks and can get very hot, so suitable clothing is recommended and children should be supervised at all times.
