
Pounds Park
Pound's Park is an award winning green public space located in the heart of the city centre. The park includes spaces for play, relaxation and socialising.
Pound's Park is next to the Kangaroo Works building and close to the Cambridge Street Collective food hall. It sits on the junction of Wellington Street and Rockingham Street.
There are three main entrances to the park. One from Carver Street, another from Rockingham Street and the final one on the junction of Wellington Street and Rockingham Street.
You can get there by public transport, bicycle, car or on foot.
Features and facilities
The park has a children's playground for families to enjoy. The play equipment is fully inclusive and not prescriptive.
The playground includes:
- Two large pyramid towers - with the tallest standing at 11 metres
- Stainless steel slides
- Climbing structures
- Playhouses
- Seesaw
- Wheelchair accessible play equipment
- Large sand pit area
- Large climbing boulder]
- Water play that runs through the playground with pumps, sprays, water wheels and damsmusical chime floor play area
